The Mids needed the victory in the best-of-three series to advance. Strikeout ace Luke Gillingham had a rare rough outing* in game one on Saturday, departing early in what would prove a 10-8 Lafayette victory. The Mids showed their mettle in the second game, facing a lose-and-go-home scenario. They won convincingly, 12-0, to clear the way for Sunday's decisive game.
