College Football: Davis Makes Good at Brown

The only thing limiting Baltimore product Jay Davis coming out of high school may have been the perception of his school's football program. Baltimore Lutheran's program was only five years old at the time of his 2010 senior season, competed in the small school division of Maryland's MIAA conference, and had not yet produced a Division I player.

That changed when Davis committed to the Ivy League's Brown Bears. His gridiron talents were evident on his high school highlight reels, and were augmented by stellar academics and athletic talent that extended to the Saints' lacrosse team.

This fall Davis has a chance to become Lutheran's first Division I starter as he competes for a cornerback spot on the Bears' defense. Brown finished 7-3 in 2012 and is projected to finish third in the Ivy League behind Harvard and Penn.
