College Football: Notre Dame, Navy Threepeat

For the third weekend in a row, both Navy and Notre Dame emerged from a fall Saturday with a win.

Navy beat the Big Ten's Indiana (2-5), 31-30, in Annapolis when freshman quarterback Keenan Reynolds hit Matt Aiken from four yards out with 2:02 in the contest to tie the game. Kicker Nick Sloan successfully put through the PAT and the Mids held on for the win. Navy (4-3) travels to East Carolina this week to face the Pirates (5-3).

Later in the day, Notre Dame held off Brigham Young (4-4) for a 17-14 win in South Bend. The Cougars played well throughout and despite throwing two picks, QB Riley Nelson scrambled effectively and also hit on two touchdown passes for BYU. Freshman running back Jamaal Williams averaged just over 4.6  yards per carry. The Irish were even better on offense as Theo Riddick and Cierre Wood each rushed for over 100 yards.

The win was the seventh straight for the Irish. They travel to Oklahoma this weekend to face the Sooners (5-1) in Norman.
