College Baseball: Terps off to Stellar Start, Top Mids 4-2

The 2012 Maryland Terrapins (11-1) are in the national rankings (#25), and deservedly so, as they've rattled off ten straight victories, including a 4-2 win against Navy (5-6) in Annapolis on Wednesday. Behind the strong starting pitching of senior Sander Beck (2-0), the Terps quieted the Navy bats through five innings. Sophomore Chance Jones broke up the shutout bid by the Terps against reliever Korey Wacker by lacing a two-run single in the sixth.

Navy travels to Catonsville on Friday to start a weekend home-and-home series against UMBC (1-7). The 11-1 start for the Terps is their second-best since 1924 and will be tested this weekend when they face Wake Forest on the road for three games. The Demon Deacons are 11-4 and have also won ten straight.
